Yes, the Taiwanese director's latest film, TAKING WOODSTOCK, is planned for release on the anniversary of the upper New York state rock festival this coming August. It will be important to see for three major reasons: 1. it's a film directed by Lee; 2. with the main character as a gay man, it might give us some historical perspective on what it meant to be gay in the Age of Love; and 3. the Sixties were the most innovative time in American history to date: economically, socially, politically, culturally, and techologically. Everything we've seen developed in this country, indeed, the world, has its roots in the Sixties...Can't wait to see the film...
