BRAVO NOTRE DAME! OBAMA WAS GREAT!

Clearly, President Obama is a sensitive, intelligent, and moral man.  He proved that again today at the graduation ceremonies at Notre Dame University in Indiana.  As proud as I was of President Obama, who despite his views that clash with those of the Catholic hierarchy on many issues, as a Catholic and a member of the majority of Catholics who also disagree with the hierarchy on many issues and yet voted overwhelmingly for Obama in the recent election, I was incredibly proud of the graduating class of Notre Dame 2009.  They gave the President a standing ovation and made it clear he was THEIR president and that they were proud of that fact!  There were a small number of protesters at the fringes of the Notre Dame graduation ceremonies, but as one priest said, who welcomed the President with the administration of Notre Dame who gave this great man an honorary doctorate, "Sometimes the least of us make the most noise....."  Well said and bravo!  As a Catholic, Notre Dame, its students and the great President Barack Obama have made me very proud this day...thank you to all....

He Picks Clinton or I'm Out

18 million Obama supporters will see it as a HUGE insult if Barack doesn't choose Hillary.  When the race begins to tighten, and it will, he'll need those of us who hold Hillary so dear.  I hope he makes the right choice...or i'm sitting this one out as will many others.  Don't let McCain win.  Hillary for VP!!! 

He'll not win Rhode Island or Massachusetts without Clinton....

VOTE OBAMA???

It has been an exciting primary season.  The first woman to run for the presidency (not withstanding Margaret Chase Smth who was nominated for a laugh by the Reps.)!  The first African American to get the democratic nomination for the presidency!

 

Those of us who were supporting Hillary Clinton for the nomination...in the face of unbelievable sexism will now support the other good candidate in the run, Sen. Barack Obama.

 

He is a good man, open to the idea of helping us get universal healthcare, lowering taxes for the poor and working classes, the middle class, the retired.  His agenda is the reason most Americans should vote for him in november.  He wants to end the killing in

Iraq

finally, while McCain wants a socalled "victory"--after 100 years...

 

McCain on the other hand will continue the Bush War in

Iraq

.  I war we were lied to about by Bush/Cheney.  McCain admits he knows nothing about the economy and the economy is tanking.  Why would a voter make his X for a man who admits he doesn't know how to improve our economic plight?

 

Anyone who was supporting Hillary, as I was, and doesn't vote for Barack, is a fool.  Hillary knows that...Obama is the by-far preferred candidate for all of interested in those issues she talked about:  ending the war, healthcare for every american, improving our image in the world, improving our desperate economic condition....

 

LIKE ME, I HOPE EVERYONE WILL VOTE FOR OBAMA.  HE HAS THE AGENDA WE WANT AND NEED.  The first African American president!!!  How exciting is that??????

MAKE SEBELIUS VICE PREZ CANDIDATE AND LOSE CONSERVATIVE CATHOLICS

There has been a lot of speculation about Barack appointing Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as his VP running mate.  If he is thinking that a woman, and a Catholic woman at that, would help him win the Catholic vote, he is dead wrong.  If fact, the Kansas Gov. was recently scolded by the Archbishop in Kansas City.  She will not win conservative Catholic votes, in fact, she will drive them away...see this article from today's National Catholic Reporter. on the communion politics surrounding the Gov. of Kansas.

If there is to be woman VP for Obama, it cannot be anyone other than Hillary Clinton.  Many of us will take it as a personal insult to appoint any other woman.

SUPER DELEGATES: CONTACT THEM FOR HILLARY!!!

If we all contact them, maybe we can influence many of them to vote for Hillary... Don't let them shove her out when we want to hear her and have her as VP if nothing else...LET THEM KNOW WE DON'T LIKE SEXISM, ANTI-WOMEN ATTITUDES ANYMORE THAN WE LIKE RACISM.

OBAMA, A CATHOLIC PRIEST, SEXISM AND RACISM!! SHAME ON THEM ALL

The following is a sermon preached by one of Obama's mentors at Obama's longtime church...a Catholic Priest...sexism, racism, just awful stuff.  Let's see if that "good" catholic Chris Matthews gives

And this FROM "The Cafeteria is Closed" a very conservative blog:Another far left clergyman, Father Michael Pfleger, has joined his Southside Chicago friend Rev. Jeremiah Wright in the media spotlight, thanks to the presidential campaign of Barack Obama. The national political media first noticed F. Pfleger when he spoke at a raucous welcome home for Rev. Wright, following his recent media firestorm.

Christopher Hitchens uncovered a years old newspaper article in which the candidate named "three spiritual mentors or counselors: Jeremiah Wright, James Meeks, and Father Michael Pfleger. Dave Kopel describes some of the more notable left wing activism of the Catholic priest. The media food chain has found a new colorful, ranting man of the cloth in the orbit of the candidate peddling change and hope.

Every Catholic in Chicago is well acquainted with Father Pfleger. For 25 years he has made local headlines for both his political activities and his clashes with the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. From asking parishioners to fill the collection plate with losing lottery tickets in order to highlight how state Lotto officials targeted the economically disadvantaged to encouraging the adoption of children out of the foster system by legally adopting a child himself, Pfleger knows what makes a good story. I've been dreading the kind of showdown he recently had with Bill O'Reilly and the national attention it has brought to his parish. That's because I long feared that the Archdiocese of Chicago was in the process of creating a monster.

No one has mentioned this astounding fact. Father Pfleger has been at St. Sabina's since 1981. The standard length of service for a pastor in Chicago is six years. Exceptions may be made, especially if a priest is nearing retirement or if special conditions are involved. This policy of regular rotation of priests among parishes is meant to avoid precisely what has happened in Pfleger's case: A cult of personality developing around a single priest in what is supposed to be a universal church. Such intense attachments are discouraged because the priests at their center often tend to succumb to the impulse to flexibly interpret their vows of obedience to Church doctrine and the authority of their bishops. .

How did this situation develop? Pfleger is a master at manipulating a media that loves to cover his many political antics. When it first came time for Pfleger to be transferred to a new parish, the story hit the Chicago media about a group of black parishioners who held their white pastor in such high esteem they didn't know if they could continue their membership in the Catholic Church after he got transferred. With racial tensions in Chicago high because of the reaction of a great many whites to the election of Harold Washington as mayor, this was a true feel good story. Rather than look like bureaucrats blindly enforcing a rule, the Archdiocese waived policy and allowed Pfleger another term at St. Sabina's.

In November, 2001, Cardinal George was reported as absolutely refusing to consider allowing Pfleger to remain at St. Sabina's for a fourth term as pastor. Pfleger and his parishioners talked of picketing the Archbishop's residence, located in a prime Chicago residential neighborhood. They even threatened schism if yet another exception was not made. Ministers from various denominations on Chicago's South Side spoke of petitioning the Vatican to intercede. Thus it is that another six year's later, Pfleger is still at St. Sabina's. And Cardinal George has an even bigger headache to deal with now that Pfleger has become a national news story.

RFK Jr. and Hillary

RFK, Jr. said no one should take offense at what Hillary said in reference to the June 1968 death of his father.  It's a slow news weekend, MSNBC et al have nothing else to talk about, so they are dragging the name and memory of RFK over the coals in order to continue to attack Hillary Clinton.

Shame on the media, especially Chris Matthews, et al over at MSNBC for even admitting online that they are looking for "anything" on a Memorial Day Friday to talk about.  So the memory of a great man, and reputation of the truly good American, Hillary Clinton, is dragged around so that MSNBC and other media can try to keep ratings up and people interested in their Obama-fest.

OBAMA THROWS REV. WRIGHT UNDER THE BUS!

Rev. Jeremiah Wright is being pilloried not only by the media, the liberal left, and some African Americans, but by his "friend" Barack Obama. Wright has presented his version of the history of the African American experience during slavery and after while suffering life here in racist

America

. Wright's version of the African American experience is one that sounds right on target to me. His statements saying that centuries of U.S. slavery, Jim Crow laws, lynchings of African Americans, decades of U.S. imperialism, that HIV/AIDS was developed to kill black people, and that because of white America's historic continued mistreatment of African Americans, God would damn the nation is exactly what many African Americans believe, and they are right.

Barack Obama, I suspect after 20 years in Wright's Church, as a friend who see Wright as his spiritual advisor, probably believes, if not believed most of what Wright is saying, too.

But, in order to become president of this country Obama had to deny these statements of Wright that clearly outlined the atrocities of the African American experience in

America

. In effect Obama threw Wright "under the bus" just as he did his Grandmother in order to give White America assurances that he was not an angry black man so that he could become the next President. Rev. Wright, and rightfully so in my book, took offense, and said, I'm not denying my experiences of horrific racism so that Barack can win the presidency. He stood up and said Barack is a politician who needs to lie to become president. Barack is willing to deny Wright's fully justified historical chronicle of racism in the

U.S.

to be President. Wright said I'm standing up for the Black Man first, then you Barack and if it means that some people see me as throwing YOU under the bus, so be it. 

Wright also made it clear that he wasn't about to throw Louis Farrakhan as Obama has done so that he can win White votes to become President.

Wright then went on to say that if Barack becomes President "I'm coming after you just as I would any other president of this country that grinds people, especially African Americans down." 

Wright is telling Obama he is ashamed of him for deny the horrors of the Black Diaspora just to become President of the country that Wright and others say is and will be hostile to African Americans.

DEM Legislature Joins Carcieri in his attack on Working Class

RI Governor and RI Democratic Legislature are pushing many RIslanders into a forced retirement.  Young people who want to work are forced leave state government.  They will then go back into the private sector creating more competition for jobs in RI and the vicious circle for the working class will continue.  Nice job, boys...how to destroy RI...

AGAIN HILLARY WINS, AND OBAMA CAN'T CLOSE

Women and working class Pennsylvanians voted for Hillary Clinton tonight, even though Hillary is broke and she was outspent by 3-1 or as some are saying 4-1.  She has all these negatives, he has the great speeches and all the crowds, and the young (who registered but didn't vote) not to mention 92% of the black vote. 

But all Democrats should be worried.  This guy cannot win the constituencies that any Democrat will need to beat McCain.

Barack Obama can't do it.

I'm sticking with women and working class Americans and will continue to support Hillary.  Right through June....and the final vote is called for....in Denver.

The only thing that would move me to Obama now is if Hillary is also on the ticket.

And, as Rhode Islanders, who voted overwhelmingly for Hillary, we should vote against any RI senator or congressman who does not follow us in our support for Hillary.  The RI super delegates are with us or against us.

In fact, I'd like to hear them all, especially Jack Reed and Patrick Kennedy and David Cicilline and Patrick Lynch, they should all support Hillary TOMORROW.
