CARCIERI GIVES US UNEMPLOYMENT--WORST IN TEN YEARS!

This is what the Carcieri government and the Rhode Island Republicans have given us.  If you want more, unemployment and cuts in taxes for the rich, vote Republican whenever you can!

R.I. unemployment rate highest in more than a decade

Rhode Island ended last year with the first annual jobs decline since 2001.

The unemployment rate jumped .5 percent. It’s the highest it’s been since 1995

You have to ask yourself one simple question. Was Rhode Island better before Don Carcieri, or after? The answer is already clear. A few more years from now it will be painfully more clear. We quite possible are witnessing the worst, most mean spirited Governor in Rhode Island history, and the working class slobs he claims to be the champion of, suffer under his reign. The political patronism of this governor makes ex-con DiPrete look like a saint. You may very well see this man follow in DiPrete's footsteps, with throngs of his administration following him in and out of the courtroom in years to come. Like the press loves to say, "YOU PAID FOR IT"

This comment is wrong. How can you put all the blame on one republican governor when everyone knows the democratically controlled legislature runs this state. They overrode the Governor's budget and passed their own which uses Tobacco Settlement money to plug a hole. Meanwhile, the legislature passed their own budget which called for the state to spend one million dollars a day that it doesn't have. This state is going down fast and the silence coming from the democratic leadership is deafening. Maybe if they weren't working so hard to attract an uneducated, unskilled workforce by making this state a sanctuary state some companies might come to this state and stay. Don't get excited, I welcome all immigrants who want to come here legally to improve their lives and bring their skills and education that will improve both their lives and the condition of this state. I have yet to see a credible fact listed in any attack on the Governor. I am not saying that he doesn't bear any of the responsibility for the condition we are in . I am saying he didn't get us here alone. Ask democrat AG Lynch why he settled the lead paint suit with the paint companies that called for a payment to Massachusetts. I thought he worked for RI? Sheldon Whitehouse had illegal aliens working for his campaign and selling driver's licenses out of the DMV. Members of our legislature have introduced laws that would give illegal aliens in state tuition discounts but would not extend them to legal citizens from neighboring MA. I'm not saying all democrats are bad and all republicans are good. I am saying that considering the condition our state is in, all sitting representatives should not be reelected. They are the reason we are where we are. If the reason Senator Obama should be elected is because he isn't bought and paid for like his colleagues, then that should be the reason why we don't reelect anyone who hold office on Smith Hill.
